On Friday I took part in the well organized #Agricathon run by @Alco and team at HES-SO in Sierre, Valais. The 17 challenges presented ranged from hectare-level geodata to litter collection and VR training.
In addition to data collections from the Open Food Data program, participants used open data on agricultural boundaries, climatic conditions and weather observations for their hacks.
The event coincided with testing of a project we’ve been working on together to push some ideas forward for the hackathon platform we used at the event. I helped some people get access to data, encouraged everyone to sign up for Opendata.ch/2019, and worked on smart contracts for a self-service farm shop.

Many thanks to the organizers, sponsors, challengers and fellow participants!
