While we already plan to celebrate Open Data Day this year as part of the upcoming Energy Data Hackdays, I’d like to share an announcement about the launch of the mini-grant scheme, which will provide small funds to support the organisation of open data-related events across the world on Saturday 7th March 2020.

Thanks to the generous support of this year’s mini-grant funders - Datopian, Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Hivos, the Latin American Open Data Initiative (ILDA), Mapbox, Open Contracting Partnership and the World Resources Institute - the Open Knowledge Foundation will be able to give out 60 mini-grants this year.

Applications for the mini-grant scheme must be submitted before midnight GMT on Sunday 9th February 2020 via filling in this form.

Saturday, March 3 is International Open Data Day, and the local community from Opendata.ch will use the occasion to have a get-together in Geneva and Berne. Interactive displays will showcase the freshest, coolest open data projects, space for working on new ones, drinks and snacks will be available at our child-and-adult-friendly central location. Calls to other cities and countries celebrating the occasion will be organized, and we will use the opportunity to connect people and plan future eve…

The Open Data Day is coming up on the 4th of March. The Zurich R User Group is organising a Hackathon in Zurich, where we will work with public transport data from Zurich.
